Dear Sir, Our Proposal was selected under Category B (Research) under the title “Air Sampling and Monitoring in and around Tiruchengode Town”. Principal Investigator : Dr.P.SenthilKumar Co-Investigator’s : Mr.K.M.Raghu, Mr.K.Chandrasekaran, Mr.M.Bhuvaneshwaran, Mr.J.Venkatesh The objective of our project is monitor the air pollution in and around Tiruchengode town which can be attained by taking air samples at about various locations, by setting monitoring stations at different locations in and around the town. About The Institution K.S.R College of Engineering was established in the year 2001 by Aarthi Educational and Charitable trust, approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University Chennai and accredited by NAAC with “A” Grade. The institution is conferred with the autonomous status by UGC & Anna University, Chennai in the year 2011. Our college offers 7 UG and 13 PG Programs in Engineering Technology and Management. The college has completed fifteen years of dedicated service in the field of technical education with an avowed mission to mould students, technologies and managers, by diligently imparting the best of technical education, nurturing human values and quality as well as to foster and maintain mutually beneficial partnership with industry through knowledge sharing, collaborative research and innovation. About the Department The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year 2005 with an intake of 60 students. The department is having qualified and experienced faculty to cultivate and enhance the knowledge of the student community. The department is continuously striving to impart knowledge through practical exposure. Skill development training’s and industrial visits are regular features of the academics. The intake every year grew and now stands at 180 per year for UG. The Department has started PG Programme M.E. – Industrial Safety Engineering in the Year 2011 with an intake of 18. Objective of the Workshop The Foldscope is a real Microscope with Magnification and Resolution sufficient for Imaging, Live Individual Cells, Cellular Organelles, Embryos, Swimming Bacteria and Much More. Since, the Foldscope is affordable it can be used anywhere. This Workshop helps the students to learn about the Assembly and usage of Foldscope. Our Goal is to encourage and enable the curious explorer in each of us and make science happen anywhere We have conducted “One day Workshop on Assembly and Usage of Foldscope” on 28.09.2018 at K.S.R. College of Engineering, Tiruchengode, Tamilnadu, India. The workshop was conducted for engineering students. Around 50 students were participated in the workshop and the students were trained with the assembly and usage of Foldscope. The students were excited and were enthusiastic about the Foldscope and their usage during the training session. Each student was trained practically using the Foldscope and structure of the Fern Rhizome was viewed during the training.
