Manu came to National Geographic last week and I was lucky enough to get a Foldscope demo from him. We have Tradescantia (spiderwort) flowers in the courtyard and he showed us what the trichomes around the anthers look like under magnification.
These are trichomes from a Tradescantia (spiderwort) flower.
Tradescantia trichomes. Manu said the shorter cells are newer.
