Bracts are modified leaf especially associated with a reproductive structure such as a flower. The bracts of Bougainvillea are thin and papery and surround the tiny true flower.
Each bract has a central vein with several veinlets.However they do not undergo the process of photosynthesis. The bracts too show reticulate venation.

Informal workshop for teachers about the usage of foldscope was conducted at Jnana Vijnana Vidyapeetha,Blore and teachers enjoyed watching slides containing mosquito wings,budding in Hydra,Euglena,onion peel and mosquito mouth parts.
