Hello, I’m Lorinda Cicely Iawim from Me.E.C.L Secondary School Umiam studying in class ten
On 14th of November 2018 a field trip was conducted by the NCCS. This trip was held beside a Panshet dam near Pune.
Our first main task that was alloted to us (students) was to find samples and to prepare it under glass slides .
The sample that I got was a spider’s leg which was found beside a stagnated area and which I then observed it under a foldscope.
The first thing that I could observed was hairy-like structures and joint-legs with a crimson brown coloured image . I also observed dot-like structures on the spider’s leg .
After doing a little observation I then learnt that the hairy -like structures acts as sensory organs for spiders which helps them in various activities like crawling and important interactions ranging from mating and prey capture.
