Date – 17th Nov,2018 Venue – East West School, Basavangudi,
We from Jnana Vijnana Vidyapeetha visited East west school to conduct Science club activity using foldscopes. We had a heterogeneous group of students from class 7th to 10th and teachers. The students were totally excited to know more about the foldscope and were eagerly waiting for the club activity. Only few students knew about foldscope and it was entirely a new concept for many of them .They had got many samples like fabrics, flowers, leaves, fungus, infected leaves, turmeric powder etc to observe under the foldscope. The following activities were done : 1.Introduction of foldscope with PPT . 2.Explanation about the difference between the microscope and foldscope 3.On spot preparation of temporary slides and observation under foldscope. The students and teachers were excited to abserve the pollen grains, petal cells, venation of leaves, arrangements of fibres in fabric, fungus, stomata etc.
