I am an RN who recently founded the non-profit charity, ASAP(Americans Serving Abroad Projects) Inc. We bring teams of healthcare professionals, students and others to remote villages in Ghana Africa where we set up temporary mobile health clinics to provide free healthcare and education to underserved communities. We also have an educational program for the schools in these remote villages where we aim to inspire and motivate children to learn.

ASAP is a non-profit organization that organizes short term mobile healthcare mission trips to remote communities in Ghana Africa. We also have a vulnerable children’s program in which we go to schools in these underserved areas to teach, inspire and motivate the students to learn more about the world around them. We are so excited to have a supply of foldscopes to bring to the schools on our next trip in October 2015. We will use them in conjunction with our new safe water program. We hope to show the children the water they drink from the streams through the foldscopes so they can see the living “creatures”that they can’t see with the naked eye that are making them sick. We are also bringing water filters and will show them the water after it is filtered. We are hoping in this way the children will realize the importance of clean water. We will then leave some foldscopes at each school so they may further explore their environment. We will start by posting pics as we explore the foldscopes ourselves and will post pics of what we found in Ghana on our return.
