On my recent trip to Mumbai, I spent some time with a group of 6 third graders and we used my foldscope to try to capture interesting light diffraction patterns! In the words of one our explorers, Sushant Vaghmare, “Science is very beautiful and light is soooo cool!”
This is an image of the diffraction patterns off of water droplets. What I loved about this image is captures the essence of light scattering! Explored by Anita Deshpande 🙂
The second image, taken by Nita Shinde, is an example of light scattering off of a rose petal! What does this remind you of? Ever thought of why a sunset look so beautiful in the evenings?
Many more pictures on the way! Happy exploring! 🙂
