This specimen was taken from outside of Jadwin Hall at Princeton University on 12/4/18. It was taken off a very short plant in a patch of grass, and it could be crabgrass or moss. I was able to see the vertical cells (see image) of the plant and some veins running through a pale-yellow green background which leads me to believe that is a kind of leaf. It was hard to get a clearer image than the one shown below, and I experimented with different lighting, focus, and slide movement. If I were to repeat this fieldwork, I would try to find an ant and look at its legs up close, or I would find another kind of leaf that is thinner and try to compare the structure of both plants.
