These photos were taken with a foldscope on a small dirt sample taken outside on Princeton University’s campus. This location was in the middle of a small clearing, about 10m away from a road. The bubbles are due to incomplete compression of the two stickers coming together, but as you can see, aside from dirt clumps, there is also a clear root with some dirt coming off of it. This was a damp, rich dirt, thus creating a homogenous fine powder over the slide was difficult and resulted in the clumps of material seen below.
