Pictured here is a soil sample taken on Princeton University campus near Jadwin and Fine Hall. The sample was found adjacent to a concrete pathway in a highly active region. There were small rocks in the area where this sample was collected. Because of these conditions it is probable that there are very few insects populating this area, however further into the grassy area, there is probably more insects. The soil used in this sample had a very sand-like texture and did not clump as much as the soil deeper into the grassy region. It would be interesting to compare soils in different regions of that small area and compare density of the soil.
