Water sample from fresh water pond (lotus pond) was obtained and observed. After confirming for the presence of a number of paramecium (observed under the microscope. Could not record with foldscope as they were moving very fast), they were culture in hay stack medium for 24 hrs. The medium was observed for the paramecium.
Preparation of haystack medium:
a fist full of hey was boiled in one litre of water along with 5-6 grains of rice and was cooled. Four ml of this was added 2 ml of boiled milk powder extract. To this 0.2 ml of lactobacillus culture preparation was added.
