<p>
 I used my foldscope to look at a plant fragment that I collected outside of Fine Hall on the campus of Princeton University. The portion of the plant shown in the picture is the narrow stem underneath a leaf. I was able to see individual plant cells when looking in the foldscope (although they’re blurry in the picture). These cells are most likely the clonally related epidermal cells found on the outer layer of the leaf. I was likely able to detect these cells rather than the inner plant cells due to the resolution of the foldscope. The green color of the cells is the characteristic green pigment of chlorphyll found in the chloroplasts of plants, which enables them to absorb energy from light.
