To drum up interest in the Foldscope, my class looked at parts of themselves using the Foldscope. We began with prepared slides so that they could get the hang of using the Foldscope and finding specimens. It also let them practice moving the specimen around in the filed of vision and using the magnification slider. Once they were comfortable, they examined hair, skin and fingerprints. I adapted my worksheet from one that I found on the Foldscope website. The kids were amazed at the detail they could see and also how different everyone's specimens looked when they could see the small details.
