yesterday, on 8/6/2026. I used the microscope for the first time in LGP. it was... quite the adventure. My group received the boxes and excitedly opened them. First we used the already ready sample in the box of a Fern Rhizomes, we quickly learned how to use the paper device as we slid in the glass slide and were amazed by the purple, blue, red pigments helping us see those small hexagonal cells which i personally thought it looked SO PRETTY. Then I rolled downhill when we used an onion peel. Using 50x was fine, but for some reason my 140x sample looked suspiciously pink. Yes pink! (i had no idea what to do so i left it and tried going for 340x). Then came the 340x lens, my onion peel had pulled the disappearing act…. I couldn’t see any cells like the 50x lens. I checked the slide, it had slid down. I sighed putting it back in place before looking at it and surely enough the looked spectacular but when I looked over to my friend’s foldscope and hers came out blue. It was an amazing experience and got me thinking what else can I see through it.
