This was the 4th day of Exploring the Microcosm at LGP 2026. These are the Pumpkin Floweer Pollen grains observed at magnifications of 50x, 140x, and 340x [using foldscope 2.0].

There were a few observations that were pretty evident.

These were pollen were yellow in colour. There were different and dissimilar structures of pollen. I observed that some were round, others are oval like a rugby ball [shown in the photo below]. Also, small air bubbles were observed around the pollen grains.

Looking back at the previous few days, I found it much easier to explore the sample and find the pollen grains myself. I could say that my foldscope skills have significantly imrpoved over the past days through continous experience.

I am eager to upload more posts soon, and once again, a big thanks to Dr Anupama for this wonderful opportunity.
