Today we saw (through the fold scope), the Fern Rhizome and the Onion cell. As this was my first time looking through the fold scope, it was an extremely fun experience. But enough talk, let's get into it.
Fern Rhizome:
It had a prominent central red circle (as in the above photo taken by the 50x") with some structures composed of circles encompassing it. At least, thats what my 50x showed. However, on closer inspection, the structures encompassing it were actually not perfect circles, rather weird polygons that looked like circles.

This is something I got on 140x, and it is pretty cool. One can see the cells as well. All in all, for my first time ever doing this, I found myself to be decently okay.
The second cell we did was the onion cell.

Firstly, I must say that peeling the onion off was pretty difficult (it took me 2-3 tries). Secondly, something embarrassing was that I thought the watery looking substances were very important (they were not, although try to guess what they are!). What we were looking for was actually the rectangle shaped cells, which I understood later (and thus have many pictures of just "watery looking things"). Here are some photos I got:

(Again, we need the rectangle looking things, that is, look past the watery things).

As I alluded to earlier, this was all very fun, and also a little educational, and I can't wait to discover more cool things!!
