I have attached some samples of silk and denim. The silk sample was taken from a pink scrunchie, and the denim sample was taken from a pair of blue jeans.

A general observation on how light travels in microscopy: The pink silk is near transparent, while the denim looks opaque. This is probably due to the difference in density and size between silk and denim, but I think it might also be because of the dye. The silk is dyed light pink, while the jeans are dyed a dark blue, which I believe affects the opacity of the fabric.

The denim is noticably thicker than the silk. It's quite opaque, which led to my previous observation. I believe this opaqueness is caused due to denim's absorbent properties.

The silk is quite thin and is either transparent or reflects lots of light. It is visibly light pink.
