An introductory session on”Foldscopes” was carried out for 83 participants from all over India whocame to attend the six day residential Outreach Program “Understanding Science”at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal from May 7 –12, 2018. A talk on “Foldscopes” (short history on microscopes, the need forfoldscopes, working, assembling) followed by the observation of a few slides through the foldscope made for an interesting session for the participants. The session also grabbed media attention.
