This is a picture of a pollen sample from one of the olive trees on the olive walk near the South Houses on Caltech’s campus. The sample was taken 4/17/19 and it was taken by crumbling an olive tree flower onto a foldscope slide.
This is the pollen from an olive tree which is an evergreen tree in the Plantae kingdom with the binomial name Olea europaea. The picture is pretty blurring, but after several attempts this was the best picture I could grab with my phone. The pollen sample was taken instead of a baxter pond sample due to the Baxter pond sample being very uneventful.
