In this video, a rather large paramecium can be seen moving across the screen in pond water. This particular sample of pond water was obtained at approximately 6:30 pm on 4/11 in the turtle pond at Caltech. The sample was captured by drawing water from the pond and placing it in a large test tube for observation. The organism in this video is a paramecium of the domain eukaryote. This is apparent mainly due to its size and shape; paramecium have a shape that resembles the sole of a shoe/an oval. Evidence that the organism is a paramecium also includes the hair-like cilia that can be seen on the organism, which are characteristic of paramecium. #caltechbi1
