Multicellular Green Algae from California Institute of Technology Turtle Pond
Image description : This is a photo taken with iPhone 6s and a foldscope of a wet sample obtained from the turtle pond on California Institute of Technology campus. Water from the pond were obtained at about 6:00 pm on April 11st, 2019 and stored in a plastic cup until the photo was taken at about 8:00 pm the same day. A green algae can be identified in the photo.
Domain : Eukarya. Since it is a multicellular green algae, it’s in kingdom Plantae, which is part of Eukarya.
Magnification : 140x. The size of the green algae in the photo should be about 0.071 mm long by about 0.014 wide.
Question : Is this the entire organism, or is this a segment that fell off from something else? Is this a young green algae or a grown one?
