The above image is a picture of a pollen sample taken from a Hemerocallis Lilioasphodelus (yellow daylily) viewed through the lens of a foldscope.
The pollen sample was obtained in front of the east gate of Avery house at 1:30 pm on May 6th, 2019. The exact location where the sample was obtained is shown in the image below.
The sample was obtained by removing the stamen from the selected flower and rubbing the anther onto the slide until some pollen rubs of from the anther onto the slide.
The plant species of the pollen is Hemerocallis Lilioasphodelus, or yellow daylily. I found the species name by searching some characteristics of the flower such as “yellow, 6 petals, long leaves”. I then found this page which lists common species of yellow flowers and found a picture that matched the flower the sample was obtained from.
