Here, we can see the pollen of Matilija poppies. The pollen is yellow and looks circular in nature. It has mostly clumped into one big section in the center of the image. The sample was collected at 7:05 pm on May 9, 2019 in front of the Earle M. Jorgensen Laboratory on the campus of the California Institute of Technology. The sample was obtained by tapping the flower until pollen fell onto a sample slide.

The plant species of the pollen is the Matilija Poppy and the scientific name is Romneya and it belongs to the poppy family Papaveraceae. These flowers are also known as tree poppies.
