This image shows my foldscope’s magnification of pollen that I collected from a red, spindle-shaped flower found in the front of Caltech’s campus (facing E California Blvd). The sample was collected on 5/9/19 at 3 pm. The right-most picture shows where the sample was obtained (from plants on the ground). The sample was obtained by picking a flower off the shrub and shaking it on top of a glass slide. Then, the sample was sealed with a coverslip. The plant species is called ‘Hardy Bottlebrush.’
