White hibiscus flower growing from its plant before being plucked. Sample (whole flower) was obtained outside the JCAP building at Caltech (1200 E. California Blvd, Pasadena, CA) at 8pm PST. The flower was plucked from its stem and a part of its petal was torn off manually and analyzed.
Petal from white hibiscus flower under foldscope magnification; there are individual specks of white light magnified from the petal itself, which are brighter to to their increased thinness/translucency. The overall composition of the flower petal is white and smooth.
