Orange tree before being sampled from. Sample (whole leaf) was obtained outside Fleming Hovse at Caltech (1200 E. California Blvd, Pasadena, CA) at 7:50pm PST. The leaf was plucked from its stem and was analyzed.
Leaf from orange tree under foldscope magnification; there are dark veins running throughout the leaf and the leaf itself is yellow-green (due to chlorophyll pigment, as well as other pigments) intermediate with the veins. The leaf is mostly opaque.
