Rose Here is a close-up of the stamen of a rose from Avery Courtyard. The sample was obtained in Avery Courtyard Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 PM. We picked out the stamen from inside the flower, put it on the glass slide, taped it on, and covered it with a coverslip. We observe the tubular structure of the stamen and the head, which contains the pollen. The head is shaped so that the pollen can easily disperse. #caltechbi1
