Our student captains explaining foldscope to one of the judges. Our students talked about the various discoveries while exploring at school and home and were able to show documentation through pictures, video and field notes. Many of the judges were very impressed and and expressed that this was the first project of its type they have seen. Although we started our exploration in hopes we might find a “tardigade”, we in fact found a rotifer! People were amazed with the sophistication but practical application of foldscope!
Many were also surprised how we were able to produce such vivid pictures and video using the attachments!
In short out of hundreds of projects and presentations, we walked away with the 2nd Place Grand Prize!!!
We thank you for a wonderful opportunity for our students to experience a world that is so much larger than themselves!!
This footage was a big hit! Mabey a type of nematode.
