Onion peel projected on a wall. Hi everyone,
First of all, thank you Manu for creating such a wonderful device. It would be very useful to use foldscope in diagnosing deadly diseases on-the-go.
Me and Shree are 2nd year MBBS students at ‘Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheswara College of Medical sciences and hospital, Karnataka’.
We were very excited to receive our foldscope. We got it from Agastya Foundation, Kuppam, a special thanks to Chaya.
There was no light module so we had to use a LED torch to project the images. It was so fun assembling the foldscope. The interesting facts on the paper kept us thinking a lot about microscopy. Since we didn’t have any prepared slides we had to use some common items.
Even though a foldscope looks to be pretty easy, once we start using it we got to know the enormous amount of technology that it has gone through.
This was our start, we would come back tomorrow with lot more interesting work. Till then take care. “Happy Foldscope-ing”
