 Using a razor blade, I cut a thin, transparent perpendicular cross-section of a stem I found outside the courtyard of my dorm.  You can see the individual cells pretty clearly in the image. I’m also not sure what the green circles in the second frame are, but am curious as to what purpose they serve.
