I was in my backyard searching for insects to look at under my Foldscope when I saw a trail of ants in my garden.
Ive never been able to see what an ants head looked liked until now. It was amazing to see how the ants jaws move side ways instead of up and down like humans. I was also able to see that ants have compound eyes and two pairs of antennae; two long antennae near the top of their head and two short ones closer to the face. The longer ones could help the ant feel where to go and the shorter ones could help the ant tast or move things toward its mouth.
