On fourth day i.e. 29th September 2018 we conducted a National Workshop on “Foldscope: Assembly, Hands-on Training and Applications” in Basugaon Higher Secondary School, Chirang District, Assam.
The workshop included an interactive talk with the students which was given by Dr. Sewali Pathak- Principal Investigator Assam and Junior Research Fellow- Ms.Priti Dubey, Mumbai.
This was followed by assembly of Foldscope by participants, and preparation of slides. The participants enthusiastically prepared slides of Betel leaf peel to observe stomata. The slides prepared by the participants were observed under foldscope. We guided them about handling the foldscope and capturing images using mobile phone camera. Two foldscope were given to the school for future use.
The workshop was co-assisted by Junior Research Fellow; Ms. Veena Desai, Mumbai and Ms. Smaranika Medhi Assam
