Vein of Bougainvillea leaf
Veins arise from the petiole through the lamina of the leaf. Veins ars the vascular tissue and are located on the spongy parenchyma of the leaf. They support the leaf and transport water and minerals to and from the leaf tissue. The leaves take in water transported by veins for the process of photosynthesis. Students of 7 B enjoyed observing the veins which was clearly visible under the foldscope.
