Some days ago, kids on 3rd grade where working on a science lecture about animals.
We started reading a story based on Aesop’s fable, The Grasshopper and the Ant.
The students get interested and investigated about ant’s life, habitat, community and feeding, etc.
As they had already experienced with foldscopes they where naturally curious to see how ants looks like.
So we set up a foldscope class and put scientific method to practice observing, hypothesizing, comparing and corroborate.
This was interesting and wonderful experience supported by the teacher but leaded by kids.
And was only possible thanks to the folds cope initiative and its crew.
Thanks
Noelia,
Teacher, 3rd grade B,
