Pollen Grains
These are the pollen grains of Centaurea cyanus , which is commonly called the ‘button flower’ plant. In many of them you will also observe dark spots which are the generative and vegetative nuclei, so these are ‘prepared’ pollens.
This image shows the crystal clear droplet-like pollen grains of Salvia.
These are the pollen grains of the holy Basil ( Ocimum basilicum) . Here too you can observe the nuclei.
And finally the ones we found the most beautiful.
The most interesting thing about the last one is that it didn’t belong to the most beautiful flower. In fact the plant was a wild species that bursts out everywhere during favourable conditions. It had the biggest pollens among the ones we saw. This post will be soon updated as we come to know the exact name for it.
