Beetle Head
The head(caput) consists of the eyes(oculi), antennae and the mouthparts. The visible mouthparts are the maxilla, mandible, labium and labrum.
Beetle Body and Limbs
The abdomen has 3 pairs of legs attached to it. One in the prothorax, one in the mesothorax and another in the metathorax regions. This ground beetle shows the presence of long slender legs that enable them to run.
