wings The mosquito sample collected is of local variety(Bangalore). Mosquitoes are ubiquitous and only female mosquitoes bite humans or birds for protein.
The body is divided into head, thorax and abdomen, with a proboscis and scaly pair of wings.The above picture is of mosquito wing. It is light, transparent and scaly.
leg the legs are long, slender and has hairlike extension. It is water repellent due to hydrophobic coating.
head the head consist of antenna, proboscis and the compound eyes.
the observed mosquito sample has no white strips hence it is not Aedes aegypti, Aedes albopictus .
The abdomen has alternating light and dark band suggesting that it could be of genus, Culex
