A number of actinobacterial isolates were isolated from a cave (Krem Dam) in Meghalaya, India and cultured. They are being screened for important traits such as antimicrobial properties. It was a hard time trying to study the micro-morphology of these filamentous bacteria as they are quite small to be viewed under a 140X microscope (foldscope). Nevertheless, in some of them, the pattern of spore-bearing structures (sporophores) were quite visible and to some extent helped in their identification. The ones which were easily identified belong to the streptomyces genera.
