I am a Medical Doctor in Kerala Health Services Department. Now, I am on deputation to Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB) (GOI - DBT), Trivandrum, Kerala as Research Scientist (Epidemiology). My personal interest is in Leptospirosis and Typhus. I also work closely with other scientists who study Influenza, Measles, Diarrhoea, Cholera, Dengue, Chikungunya, Malaria and Non-communicable diseases.

Foldscope and Raspberry Pi computer. Ticks collected from Rodents are mounted on glass slides. It is kept on the Foldscope. Manual focusing is done. Then the camera attached to the Raspberry Pi is placed in the same way as the camera of the Mobile. The image is captured in the Raspberry Pi computer. It can be seen on the Monitor too. Note the light source used (kept in the background)
