  .   I had never seen a green coloured spider before…so when I found it in my native I immediately captured it so th

  Turns out it is known as a Green Lynx Spider(Peucetia viridans).Well I saw a female one.I was amazed to observe it details.There were few blood red patches between the eyes &amp; a few reddish pink spots throughout its body along the abdominal lining.The whole body is greenish to yellowish in colour.There are hair like structures scattered throughout its body.I could also see the cell lines…may be the dermal skin.

  The appendages or legs had few spine like structures scattered &amp; at the joints of its legs also there are red patches.Even I could see very few black spots in it.It’s mouth is like any other spider.Also I could some thread like vessels inside its body.

  This is my best guess that this plant pest which I saw on my Lily plant is a wooly aphid.As you can see there is quite an amount of growth on my plant.Firstly I thought it to be a fungal growth but later I saw one of it moving so picked up the white thing to observe under my foldscope.
 </em>

  The reason why I thought it to be a fungus b’coz they mostly remain still…no movement.N then I wondered how did they spread so much.
 </em>
</p>

  As soon as I placed a cover slip over it just secreted some kind of sticky exudate. So when I saw this tiny white aphid..I saw a needle like projection towards it’s mouth I guess &amp; also saw it’s curved appendages. There are also some coloured particulates in its lymph(may be)…I wonder what those particles are. It has a covering of white colour…which is why I think it is called a wooly aphid.

 Hello all foldscopers! Sometime ago I had plucked a decayed or diseased small leaf from a plant. I had completely forgotten about it but recently observed it under my foldscope.Turns out the various trails on the affected part of the leaf were by a leaf miner.

 Because of the delaying i couldn’t find any larva or insect on it. So I’m unknown of what kind of leaf miner had caused this damage on the leaf. Please guide me through this.

 Hello foldscopers!!! It’s so good to be back &amp; this time with a really different approach &amp; the new foldscope model! The IIT B workshop was so wonderful that the eagerness to view &amp; post something new had increased in me.

 So here’s a small sample that I had scraped from the walls of a boundary in the IIT campus itself.

 And I had a complete WOWWW moment when I observed it. There was such a diversity like from rotifers,nematodes to diatoms &amp; vorticella there were so many of them.

 After panning across I came across this single vorticella species &amp; there’s an interesting interaction between some kind of nematode ( I have no idea what that protozoan is ) &amp; the vorticella. Please share your views about it.
