This is my best guess that this plant pest which I saw on my Lily plant is a wooly aphid. As you can see there is quite an amount of growth on my plant.Firstly I thought it to be a fungal growth but later I saw one of it moving so picked up the white thing to observe under my foldscope.
The reason why I thought it to be a fungus b’coz they mostly remain still…no movement.N then I wondered how did they spread so much.
As soon as I placed a cover slip over it just secreted some kind of sticky exudate. So when I saw this tiny white aphid..I saw a needle like projection towards it’s mouth I guess & also saw it’s curved appendages. There are also some coloured particulates in its lymph(may be)…I wonder what those particles are. It has a covering of white colour…which is why I think it is called a wooly aphid.
So I request all foldscopers to please guide me of its further details.
