 This video is a video of a small organism swimming in a sample taken from Caltech’s baxter pond. The time was about 8:00pm and the sample was taken with a cup (from Ta). The water was transferred to a slide using a disposable pipette and observed through a foldscope lens on an iphone X camera.


 The magnification of the foldscope lens is 140x, and the magnification used on the phone is 1x. Thus, the total magnification is 140x. The length of the video on my phone screen is about 11.5cm, and the length of the organism is about .5mm. All together the organism appears to be about 3.6e-6 meters or 3.6e-3 mm.

 The images above show the plants and the pollen of flowers taken from right outside of the Avery House East Gate (shown in the left picture above). The sample was collected on May 5, 2019 at 4:00 pm. It was obtained by removing a flower from the plant by it’s stalk, then the stamens of the flower were removed. The stamens were gently tapped onto a slide to deposit the pollen, then a coverslide was placed on top of the sample and taped into place on both edges.


 After researching the color (yellow/orange) and number of petals (6) of the flower online, I compared many results to the collected flower and determined the flower to be a Daylily (
 
 Hemerocallis lilioasphodelus)
 
 . The extra leaves coming from the plant in the picture above also seems to resemble the leaves from a daylily plant. Researching images of dalily pollen online, I found images resembling grains or rice, which resembles the pollen image taken from the sample above. Thus, the flower is likely a daylily.
