This was a little bit underwhelming as an experience, but it was good practice to learn how to prepare flesh samples. This is useful because if you suspect a plant or harvest to have some kind of invisible (or hard to see) infection (especially in rural areas), this can be used to find out when, how and why it is happening. So this kind of introduced it's frugality to me. I used a small pen to mash the potato flesh on the slide and then I put this under 340x to view the individual potato cells from the flesh, along with the starch and the water present inside those cells.
