A workshop was conducted on 19th January 2019, for the members of vidnyanvahini (NGO) to illustrate the use & implementation of foldscope as a research tool.Vidnyanvahini is an innovative & trend setting effort to reduce the gap in standards of science teaching between rural & urban schools by offering rural school children a means of learning science through laboratory experiments. The flagahip project of vidnyanvahini is the mobile science laboratory (MSL) : a mini bus designed to accommodate storage for lab apparatus, audio visual experiments, laptops, UPS, generator, portable lab tables & overhead water storage.
The members who participated in the foldscope workshop (Mrs Shailaja Joshi, Mrs. Ambekar, Mrs.nirmala rege, Mrs.shubhangi parkar, Mrs. Nalini mungel & Mrs.kirti Bapat) were senior citizens, all aged 70 years & above, however they were very enthusiastic & young at heart & excited to learn all about foldscope. It was an amazing learning experience for us as well.
