Trichoderma is a genus of fungi in the family Hypocreaceae, that is present in all soils, many species in this genus can be characterized as opportunistic avirulent plant symbionts. Several of Trichoderma have the ability to form mutualistic endophytic relationship with several other plant species. Therefore, they are also used as bio-control agents in plants.
