In this image, bacteria from Turtle Pond water can be seen. This sample was obtained on 4/8/19 at 4:50 PM by sticking a falcon tube into the Turtle Pond. One question I have about the sample is: why are the bacteria translucent in this photo? A way to answer this would be to research bacterial cells and what they look like under a microscope, as well as what bacterial cells are comprised of. A second way would be to try taking an image with different lighting and see if it has an effect. Another question is: what is that crummy looking material on the edges of the sample? A way to answer this would be to make more samples and find if that material appears in the new samples. #caltechbi1
