Here is an image captured from a foldoscope of the small, yellow, oval pollen particulates from the stamen sample from White Hibiscus flowers. This was obtained by removing the flower of a white hibiscus plant outside of JCAP (Joint Center for Artificial Synthesis) at Caltech (91126-0001 Pasadena, CA) on 7:26 PM on 5/31/2019, and then its stamen were removed by pulling them from the flower, and they were crushed and placed under the lens cover on the slide. They were then photographed using an iPhone XR using a foldoscope.
Here is an image of the white flower petal from the same white hibiscus flower taken from above. This was obtained from the same location at the same time as the white hibiscus flower obtained above. This image was obtained by removing the white hibiscus flower from the plant, tearing a portion of the petal using fingers, securing the petal under a lens cover on a fresh slide using tape, and then photographed using an iPhone XR using a foldoscope.
