The Frozen Project: A 6-year-olds study of crystals…

Hi there! What have you been exploring? Baking Soda!

Do you mean the stuff I cook with? Yes.

Well, what did you do with it? I poured a little out of the box and into a bowl of water. I mixed and added until the water could not hold any more. Then I squirted some of the solution onto a slide and let it dry.

Interesting! How did the slide look to your naked eye? It looked like puffy round marks. Something like ant hills.

How did the slide look like under the Foldscope? It was kind of neat! I saw triangles and round tubs with points and curls on the ends. I even saw parts that looked like a straw with a bendy top. Altogether interesting shapes!
