The Frozen Project: A 6-year-olds study of crystals…

I see you have been working. What else have you explored? Hail Stones.

What, Hail stones?? Yes. Suddenly there was a big BANG of thunder. And it got very dark and windy and humid outside. And suddenly little pitter-patters were heard, and they were hail stones!!

Wow! So you explored them under your Foldscope? Yes! I dropped them directly on the Foldscope to look at them. And to make the photos we laid on our backs and looked up to the sample.

Tell me about the results. Very beautiful!! They were very sparkly and made rainbows like the Prism and Alum. We even saw in one stone the speck of dirt which started the stone.
