During the whole leg, I was in charge of plankton sampling, everyday, on the morning and during the evening. It was quite intense !!
First there was this system made to pump the water while we were continuing to move forward with Tara.
And this net capable of collecting plankton at high speed . The aim was mainly to store collections of plankton using different fixers, Lugol, Ethanol, Formol…
The sailors onboard were so interesting, so inspiring and incredible curious !
The other scientists were doing dives to collect a lot corals and fishes also to preserve and study them at the lab.
